About Our Climate Risk and Finance Work
One of the central questions posed by climate change is how to pay for the investments in adaptation and resilience needed to withstand climate impacts as well as the technologies needed to reduce emissions. Climate risks–to homes and communities, ecosystems, supply chains, and more–are increasingly urgent and complex, requiring increasingly sophisticated policy and analytic tools to provide a coherent response.
CLEE’s work in this space ranges from our Climate Risk Initiative, which focuses on the role of insurance and financial regulation in assessing and addressing climate-related risks, to our efforts on behalf of local governments to develop climate action funding plans. These projects form a crucial piece of our holistic approach to advancing law and policy solutions to environmental challenges.
