About Our International Collaboration Work

Global environmental challenges call for global solutions. CLEE’s international work draws on the role of California as an environmental leader to build cross-jurisdiction coalitions sharing policy strategies and tackling pressing issues from methane pollution to heavy-duty trucks.

We focus on action at the subnational level, working with leaders from regulatory agencies, academic institutions, and industry. Beginning with former Governor Jerry Brown’s establishment of the California-China Climate Institute in 2020, CLEE has built an array of global partnerships that help share California’s best ideas with the rest of the world and deliver new approaches here at home.
