About Our Climate Equity Work
Climate equity has many definitions, but at its core is the principle that policies and investments to address climate and environmental harms should be designed to benefit the communities that suffer those harms the most. CLEE’s climate equity work connects many of our projects across energy systems, land use, transportation, and more. We focus on policy mechanisms–from community benefits frameworks and ownership models to public input in infrastructure siting–that can meaningfully promote equity in investment and design while advancing implementation.
Working with established leaders in local government, environmental justice, and climate policy, we are developing a suite of projects at the intersection of equity, decarbonization, resilience, and community-oriented investment.
