Wetlands and canel in Sacramento farm land with yellow flowers

From sustainable forest management and regenerative agriculture to urban greening and groundwater recharge, nature-based solutions have the potential to deliver immense resilience, carbon sequestration, ecosystem preservation, water conservation, and other benefits in a rapidly changing climate. However, the incentives and stakeholders needed to fund and implement these projects are too often narrow, fragmented, and lacking policy support. CLEE’s work focuses on innovation in financing and governance mechanisms that can account for the multiple benefits of nature-based solutions and drive them toward implementation.
