Berkeley Law was one of the first major law schools to enter the field of environmental law, and our program remains as strong as ever today.
The Environmental and Energy & Clean Technology Law Programs offer students the chance to explore interdisciplinary perspectives on the environment, to obtain vital practical experience, and to connect with the dynamic Bay Area environmental law community.
Certificates of Specialization in Environmental and Energy & Clean Technology Law
Transitioning to a sustainable energy and environmental path represents one of the greatest challenges in human history, and also creates myriad opportunities for professionals who are trained to take advantage of them.
Berkeley Law offers two certificates of specialization in the fields of environmental and energy law. Both J.D. and LL.M. students are eligible to earn the certificates.
Research Opportunities
CLEE, Berkeley Law environmental and energy law faculty, and other members of the Berkeley environmental community frequently recruit students to assist with ongoing research.
Fellowships and Awards
CLEE and Ecology Law Quarterly (ELQ) awards summer fellowships and writing awards to current students. This funding is open to all students at Berkeley Law.
CLEE Scholars
The CLEE Scholars Program is a merit-based scholarship provided to incoming students that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental or energy law.
