About Judith
As the Center’s first staff member dedicated exclusively to donor relations, Judith is responsible for cultivating the relationships that allow CLEE to scale its impact across California and the world.
Judith’s professional philosophy is rooted in the conviction that well-designed, equitable systems allow human goodness to flourish. She operates from the belief that people have an innate desire to contribute to something larger than themselves.
Judith’s career in policy and fundraising began with grassroots environmental advocacy in Michigan. Her trajectory has since spanned significant roles in public policy, media, and environmental justice.
At the Bay Nature Institute, Judith founded and led the development program. As Associate Director, she built a thriving fundraising engine that allowed the organization to expand operations and thrive despite broader challenges in the publishing industry. It was through this work that Judith developed her signature approach to philanthropy: the belief that all “miracles” are ultimately found in the realm of relationship.
Her professional background also includes impactful roles at the ACLU of Illinois, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
A passionate advocate for the philanthropy sector, Judith writes and presents on fundraising strategy and donor engagement in professional venues.
Judith is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Management from the Spertus Institute in Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Prelaw Humanities from the Michigan State University Honors College.
