Molly Bruce

Molly Bruce is a Research Fellow with CLEE’s Wheeler Water Institute. Her work explores how legal, policy, and financial tools can improve environmental management. For example, Molly has helped shepherd an effort to clarify legal, economic, and geochemical considerations for managed aquifer recharge; she’s evaluated the costs and benefits of Recharge Net Metering, a novel incentive program to promote groundwater recharge; and she has explored how environmental permitting can be reshaped to better meet the needs of environmentally beneficial projects like wetland restoration and floodplain reconnection. 

Prior to CLEE, Molly worked with organizations like the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability and North Carolina Conservation Network. Molly also worked with Duke’s Environmental Law & Policy Clinic and with the Marine Robotics and Remote Sensing Lab while in graduate school. Molly graduated from Duke University with a law degree and a master’s degree. Molly earned her B.A. in Geography and Global Studies from UNC, Chapel Hill. Molly has been admitted to the North Carolina bar.
