Shruti Sarode is a Climate Change Research Fellow at the Center for Law, Energy, & the Environment, where she leads initiatives at the intersection of clean energy, decarbonization and climate equity. Shruti’s research focuses on moving promising climate solutions to policy and scale. At CLEE, she works closely with various California state agencies, including California Energy Commission, California Air Resources Board and Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation. She is also one of the Coordinating Lead Authors for California’s Fifth Climate Assessment.

Prior to joining the CLEE team, Shruti worked at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources on the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts, bringing scientists and practitioners together to foster climate solutions in Wisconsin. Shruti has worked in India, Canada, China, Japan and the United States on various sustainability and climate research projects. Shruti holds a Masters in Environmental Conservation from University of Wisconsin-Madison, as a part of which, she worked with the Rainforest Alliance on Accountability Framework Initiative, to support the global effort to produce agricultural and forestry commodities while protecting forests, other ecosystems and human rights. Shruti also holds a Masters in Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
