Strategies to remove carbon and other greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and sequester or use it beneficially are an increasingly vital component of most climate mitigation strategies. While technologically promising, these strategies raise significant questions around cost-effectiveness, environmental protection, community impacts and benefits, infrastructure adequacy, and governance.
CLEE’s work focuses on pilot projects and policies to develop effective, equitable answers to these questions so that emerging carbon removal technologies are applied appropriately and for the benefit of all stakeholders.
