Kasia Kosmala-Dahlbeck

Kasia Kosmala-Dahlbeck is a Climate Research Fellow at CLEE, where she leads research projects developing just decarbonization and resilience policy solutions. Kasia works closely with California state agencies, including the California Air Resources Board, the California Natural Resources Agency, and the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation, on climate economics and the societal impacts of climate change. Kasia’s research collaborates across interdisciplinary scientists; federal, state, and local policymakers; Tribal governments; community-based organizations; nonprofits; and private sector organizations to develop innovative governance and investment frameworks for effective climate policy implementation. 

Kasia’s work has directly informed the California Legislature and been featured in numerous outlets, including NPR, The Guardian, Canary Media, and TEDx London. She has published in the Cambridge Journal of Climate Research and guest lectures regularly at UC Berkeley, as well as serves on the Monterey Bay EV Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Advisory Council and in UC Berkeley’s Community Engaged Research Network.

Prior to joining CLEE, Kasia worked on foreign policy and political economy issues in the UK, the US, New Zealand, and the Middle East, working with government departments and other stakeholders on environmental governance, conflict resolution, and development finance. She is also a founding member of an international climate technology and advocacy organization funding civic climate leaders in 28 countries and nominated for the Earthshot Prize in 2024.
