About Darien
Darien is a Research Fellow at CLEE, where he is focusing on reimagining the oil and gas industry in the context of shifting energy dynamics, both in California and globally. Darien comes to UC Berkeley after having spent over a decade in energy and economic development and environmental issues. He was previously at the US Department of Energy, where he focused on clean energy technology innovation and deployment. He has also worked in energy finance and policy for the World Bank and the Clinton Foundation. He began his career in investment banking covering global oil and gas markets.
Darien is a California native, and now lives with his family in San Francisco. He is an avid backpacker, and enjoys skiing, going to concerts, and hiking with his two kids. He is a graduate of UCLA and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
