Sustainable Aviation

Air travel is responsible for a small but growing portion of global greenhouse gas emissions and is one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize due to the dynamics of flight and the need for high-density fuels. It is also a legally complex sector to address, with limited regulatory precedent and multiple industry and international governing bodies.

CLEE’s sustainable aviation work focuses on developing novel regulatory approaches and leveraging existing tools to promote emerging technologies such as sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen, and battery electric flights.
