As part of CLEE’s ongoing Future of Oil and Gas webinar series, we will speak with Dave Jones, former California Insurance Commissioner and CLEE Climate Risk Initiative Director, and Corey Riday-White, Managing Attorney at the Center for Climate Integrity, both experts on financial regulation and climate risk. The conversation will focus on the impacts of climate change and the role of the oil and gas industry in climate litigation—often referred to as “polluter pays.” We will discuss mechanisms to price risk, and who should bear the cost for climate-driven extreme weather events such as wildfires, hurricanes, and floods.
